5.5. Steam Generator

In addition to the simple table look-up steam generator model described in Section 5.4.5, SAS4A/SASSYS‑1 contains a detailed steam generator model. The simple table look-up model is intended for cases in which the steam generator behavior has little impact on the results of a transient. The detailed model is intended for cases in which changes in the steam generator heat removal rate and/or gravity head have a significant impact on the results. Also, the detailed steam generator is required when the balance of plant model is used. The detailed steam generator model is described in Chapter 7.
